An evening full of celebrating afro hair & its powerful history. This event promises to leave you with new skills from our canerowing workshop, and an appreciation for afro hair from our informative group discussion.
Whether its the big and full afro’s reminiscent of the Black power movement, the origins of headwraps, the spirituality behind dreadlocks, or the resistance and African roots of canerows/ cornrows - afro hair has an important history to tell. Our informative session on hair history will be followed by a hands on canerowing/ cornrowing workshop teaching you everything from Afro hair care tips, to how to best part afro hair and of course how to canerow/ cornrow.
This event is hosted in proud collaboration with Manchester based ‘Official True Beauty.’
